Smart digital thermostat is connected to the mains voltage to which it is connected, whether there are two wires on each side or a single wire on both sides, depending on whether it is single or double-pole. The wires marked for the power supply are located on the "wire side" of the thermostat and go to the fuse panel. If there is a load side, maybe a heater side and the heater is gone, then it does not matter where the wires go as long as they go through the wires (or perhaps the current side) of your thermal assistance. On the other hand, if a line-side wire goes through your wire (and perhaps electricity) and goes to a "load" (perhaps heating) or another side (mustat), it is important where that wire goes.
